It was a perfect weekend for a road trip.

Sunny skies, cool breeze. Unexpectedly I have fallen in love with this mitten state. So many neat places tucked away just waiting for us.

Saturday's destination was Ann Arbor. Dave was meeting a friend for the Michigan Utah game at the BIG HOUSE. So we joined him for a yummy lunch at Zingerman's, some window shopping, and let the kids explore the children's museum. I loved the artsy feel of the downtown, the unique shops, and the kids just couldn't get enough of HANDS ON. Perfect combination.

Please don't ask Dave how the game went. Or about how Steve's car broke down, or how they never made it. Please don't ask, he might just cry.

Monday's destination was Silver Beach. It was sunny, the water was warm, and the beach was CROWDED. My goodness it was Olive Garden on Valentine's Day.

Can you find us? We did manage to find a little piece of beach and it got better as the day went on.

I'm getting anxious. The summer is ending? I'm not ready. Our last year in Michigan? I'm not ready. And I never thought I'd say that.

It is so hard seeing summer come to an end, but then I think about skiing, sledding, and the excitement of the first snow so it's okay. Also, while it will be a little sad to say goodbye to Michigan, just think of the new adventure that awaits you (not to mention no more school!)! We love you guys!
Looking at those pictures made me very Michigan sick. I still dream of getting back there and buying my little farm that requires no early mornings (my cows will milk themselves) and a cottage on the beach. You guys all look great. I can't believe how big the boys are getting. Enjoy fall for me!! It is not even close here.
really? one more year? just when you're starting to get the hang of things. isn't that how it goes?! what a sweet little life you've made for yourselves in michigan. happy september! love, lin
What a fun weekend. I'm so glad you are loving Michigan. It is a great place with so much variety and culture all of its own!

So I must say you take some good pictures! Michigan looks like a fun place, where is next... California??
Looks like a fun place there in Michigan. My sister-in-law just got called to the Lansing, Michigan mission and I'm sure she'll love it. I'm also jealous that you guys are almost done with school. I'm sure we'll be there soon enough though. Maybe we'll fall in love with Arizona over the next few years. Who knows?
Where are you guys headed next?
