St George

While Sybil and I were in Indiana, Dave drove down to St George with the boys to visit his brother, Greg and his family. They had such a great time! 

One day they went out to a farm for a corn maze and other fun activities. See Gage and Laura holding hands? Cousins are the best.

and a petting zoo. For a boy who loves animals, Gage couldn't resist giving the donkey a hug.

Another day they took the boat out for some wakeboarding and tubing.

Not sure why we have no pictures of Lisa and Jake! But I know they were there and that everyone had a great time visiting. We love you, Wagners! 

Indiana

When I got to Kate's house, the crib was already set up. Her car seat was installed. She had rows and rows of neatly folded, clean baby clothes. She was 2 days over due and just waiting. Her second girl on her way. Sybil and I tucked in to keep them company.

We drove by the brick buildings and tree lined streets around Perdue and spent a short weekend in this rivertown. It reminded me so much of Michigan. The trees, the shops, Panera and Qdoba! That was a yummy surprise. We did sister things like pedicures, lunch, chatting, shopping and projects.

No baby came while I was there. Luckily my mom made it just in time for Lexi to come. But it was nice to see my pretty sister and her family. I wish I could listen to Justin talk about cyber forensics and color with Ashlyn any day!

Grandpa Woody

 

Grandpa Woody came to town with his van full. Russian storybooks, a pressure cooker, a bread maker, laffy taffy for the boys, chocolate for me, a rocket launcher (more on that later) and... a wii! Noah and Gage were so excited. With all of that how could we not have a great weekend? Loaded with good food and good fun. 

 

Every morning at 9:30 Sybil would fall asleep in Grandpa's arms.  At Gage's soccer game, at church, at home. She couldn't resist.

One afternoon we went to Temple Square. My dad's one request - a roast beef sandwich at the Nauvoo cafe. Very tasty, indeed. 

 

Another afternoon we headed to the park with Grandpa's homemade rocket launcher.  Water bottles, a bike pump and pvc pipe.

Noah listened intently to the lesson on pressure and arc and cosigns from his engineer Grandfather. And he diligently watched the gauge until 60 lbs of pressure was pumped. Then Noah and Gage would both squeal as the rocket was launched really high, spraying water as it went. And I mean REALLY HIGH.

Thanks for coming Grandpa! We love you!!

The Big 6

Dave had a 10 year reunion with his BYU roomies while we were in Utah. 

The best guys you've ever met.

Friends to keep for a lifetime.

Another night we were able to see a few of them and their families. We missed the Blakes and the Corbridges!

I love seeing them as parents. I love seeing their characteristics in their kids. I love how we spent the whole night laughing.

The Big Red Barn

The best place to pick a pumpkin is from the Rowley's farm. 

Cousins make anything 'the best'. 

And their pumpkin patch is a pretty good one. 

Noah and Gage picked their favorites. And they were huge. 

I won't tell my Singapore friends how much they cost, because they would cry.

After our pumpkins were picked the kids had all sorts of fun on the HUGE slide, the maze, the sandbox. 

Then it was a wagon ride back to The Red Barn for some apples of course.
