A Saturday at the Fire Station

We met some friends at the Central Fire Station one Saturday.

It was fun to see how Singapore does things.

But after 3 1/2 years I still can't remember what number you call if there's a fire. 995? 955? I need to ask Noah.

These are the fire trucks you see driving around town. They usually have a dozen firefighters piled in.

Gage wore his boots of course.

8 months

Sybil was born with long, dark, thick hair. Just like her brothers. As she grows into her own, her hair has lightened and thinned... and then it all fell out! I would find clumps of it in her crib when she woke up or handful of it in her little fist.

Her long wispy baby hair is gone and now it sticks straight up.

The boys call her "fuzzy head."

to the big school

It is time. Today Gage starts at the big school.

He knows the place well. He's been back and forth and all around that school for the last 2 1/2 years. Having a big brother is definitely an advantage.

But now its his turn.

Last night we had a special family dinner before they both went back to school. The boys got to choose anywhere they wanted. They chose Din Tai Fung. We talked about what it means to be a Wagner while they gobbled up their pork dumplings leaving the xiao long bao for me. "I know, Mom" is what they would say in between mouthfuls. Good, I'm glad they know.

Gage wanted to wear his stripy socks and his soccer shoes and comb his hair himself.

After a big and I mean long break from school everyone was ready to go back.

Gage has been begging to ride the school bus with Noah since the first day that big blue bus pulled up to the condo. His first day of kindergarten was no exception. He was so excited to ride that bus.

So instead of kissing him all the way up to his classroom door, I waved to his excited face on the other side of the bus window with my apron strings a little looser. Good thing Dave was there to hold my hand.

LEGOLAND Malaysia

Right before school started Dave took the boys to Legoland, Malaysia.

They took a Singapore taxi to the border, drove through customs, then took a Malaysian taxi to Legoland. Easy Peasy.

Or as Gage would say - Easy peasy lemon squeezy, don't forget its japanesey.

The lego racetrack was a favorite.

They even got their own driver's licenses.

Asian landmarks built out of lego. That's Singapore with the Taj in the background.

Petronas Twin Towers.

Noah built his own twin towers.

They loved all the rides and roller coasters. But I suspect it was extra fun because they were with their Dad. He makes everything the best.
A great day at Legoland!

New Years Eve

Our New Year's Eve BBQ was rained out. It rained that entire day. Never let up once.

So instead we did sparklers from the balcony (you can do that kind of thing in Sg) drank our sparkling cider, played games, and made our resolutions. Some of us understood the process a little better than others. Noah had a very thoughtful resolution and the one Dave and I chose is seriously going to change our lives. And here's Gage's:

"My resolution is to read 1 Nephi all by myself
or to turn six
or to get married and have a baby."

Makes me laugh every time.

Dave and I stayed up late to watch the ships out on the ocean from our window. They send up their flares at midnight. We barely made it but it was worth it.

Happy New Year!
