Mt. Faber Park

Last weekend we took a taxi to the top of Mt. Faber at Telok Blangah Hill Park and then 'hiked' down the Forest Walk.

The walkway was like a race track for these two boys. Perfect, says Mama. There are places where you can take stairs down the the Earth Trail if you feel like doing some real hiking. But running down these tracks was perfect for us. Only stop to sip Daddy's camelback, spy a bird, or eat some gummies on a bench.

Can you find Gage? Can you find Noah?

This weekend we took a bus and then a taxi to the top of Mt. Faber again, and then 'hiked' the opposite way to the Hendersen Waves - a very neat bridge that looks like a wave.

If the bus has a 2nd story - than you know we're riding on the top. The boys love it. Same goes for David.

We pass through a garden on the way to the bridge, there's Tai Chi going on at the top of the hill. Bring your own boom box style. Can these really be the same bougainvillea flowers we have on our balcony?

Gage and Noah race across the bridge but stop at each wave to climb up and slide down.

This is the view from the bridge and a typical Singapore sight. All those buildings and trees.

What a pretty park - and who doesn't love a double decker bus!

Hiking among the tops of the trees--that looks just like a dream world. How fun!!

This is great! I'm so glad you posted about it. We did part of it when we first moved here and lived right by the Hort Park. I think I'll take Jeanne and Trac to do this as it's more interesting and tree-topey than the tree top hike. I don't like those squaty potties either and try to avoid them too. That's what they had in Russia but dirtier and often just a hole so I figure I got my fix then.

I'm so glad you posted about this too! We've heard of it but haven't done it yet and it looks lovely! I can't wait to try it out. :)

I don't want to gross everyone out...but I'm totally used to the squatty potties now. If there's a choice I will always choose the american style, but since I squat above those too, I don't see much of a difference. Maybe I'm just used to it since I used to backpack all the time and dig my own hole...

However, I do have a very important rule when using them...none of my clothing can touch the ground. That can get tricky depending on what I'm wearing. To much Information?
