After Dave was done working we had a lovely picnic with his colleagues and then headed to Fremantle for a few days before returning to Singapore.
We strolled the streets filled with restaurants and old gold rush buildings, peeking in a few shop windows.
We loved the Fremantle weekend market with its farmer's produce and interesting shops.

I could have spent all my money in this fair trade shop.
The market surprised us with an Arepa stand! This is one of Dave's favorite foods from his mission in Venezuela. So tasty we came back the next day.
While in Fremantle we also went to the Maritime Museum of Western Australia for the submarine tour of the HMAS Ovens. Sybil and I enjoyed the children's exhibits inside the museum while Dave and the boys toured the submarine.
