He's on his way

(photo courtesy of a great blog Singapore Kids Places)

Dave left Monday morning at a very wee hour to catch his flight to his interviews. He should get there today about 11:30am.

We spent the weekend getting him all suited up. Ironed the blue interview shirts, hung ties, loaded the ipod, checked out his reading material from the library, and of course stuffed the Swedish fish into zippered pockets right next to the sunscreen.

This weekend I'll do it all again (minus the ties and Swedish fish). I'll make sure to throw in my flip flops and my maps for my appointments to tour a few international schools. And I'll meet him next week to see if this place can handle 2 busy American boys.

We are so proud of him. He is going to rock that island.

Wish him well.

wait a minute. What's going on here? You're moving to Singapore?

Maybe! We got really close to a few jobs here but they didn't work out. Since the market is so bad, we have expanded our options. Dave is doing a few interviews and we'll see how it goes :)

That was my reaction, too - you're moving to Singapore?! Making the flight to 'scout schools' sounds pretty definite. One of Kerri's friends in our ward served her mission in Singapore/Malaysia, so I might be able to get info for you if you end up really moving there - yikes! How exciting - and terrible for your mom & dad! Michigan is far enough away!

We're thinking of you and hoping everything goes well. We hope you both have a safe, fun, productive visit to Singapore. And, tell those sweet little boys to take it easy on their Mom while Dad is gone. (And on grandma next week!)

Wow! that is awesome! Go Dave! My friend down the street just got back last summer from Singapore. They went there for her husband's work and lived there for about 5 months. They absolutely LOVED it! It seemed like there was always a lot of fun things to do with the kids there.
