We spent the last week of the summer in Krabi, Thailand.
It was Sybil's first plane ride. The boys keep us up to date on all her firsts.
"Mom! This is Sybil's first time to Thailand!"
"Mom! This is Sybil's first time in a van!"
"Mom! This is Sybil's first time watching me dig a hole!"
We happened to be there on the Queen's birthday, which is Mother's Day in Thailand. There were big portraits of the Queen everywhere - in the airport, on the street, at the hotel - in addition to the regular.
And Spirit Houses in every corner, with daily offerings.
We spent most of our time at the hotel
together
which was perfect
and exactly what we wanted from this trip.
Snorkeling in the bathtub,
hanging on the couch.
Of course there was time at the beach.
And we couldn't get enough of the food. I kept forgetting to take pictures before we gobbled it all up.
And one night we headed to Ao Nang for some cheap shopping and dinner. Noah went to each street vendor he saw looking for Thai Pancakes, his favorite. Nobody had coconut that day. But we did find a quaint spot to eat where Dave and I ooohhed and aaahhed over every bite, Noah ordered the best iced coconut milk I've ever had, and funny Gage made a pet out of the carved vegetable duck that came with the pineapple rice. He took it home in his thai hilltribe hat.
