KRABI, THAILAND

We spent Christmas break in Krabi, Thailand. Not the best substitute for being with family, but we'll take it!

After the short flight we took a long boat to our destination. The long boats are the only way to get around. Aren't they gorgeous?

We remembered to say hello in thai, 'sa wat dee' and thank you, 'korp kun.' But Noah soon corrected us on the local dialect, "The ladies all say 'korp kun ka', Mom." And he was right.

We loved walking the streets to see what we could see. We loved the cheap touristy shops.

We learned that southern Thailand is 40% Muslim and the rest Buddhist. Which is a lot different than central and northern Thailand which has a lot of Buddhists and Christians. There were a lot of mosques in Krabi. This one hadn't been painted yet.

We took tuk tuks to get around. The boys love them. This one had funky music booming from the speakers (Gage still slept through it).

And of course we loved the food: pad thai, beef with basil, green curry, ginger beef, Tom Yum soup, pineapple rice.

And Thai pancakes!! Every time we saw a hut we had to stop.

Even the street food looked yummy! You can see amazing squid hanging from the top of the cart. But we were only brave enough to try the bbqed while you wait corn on the cob. And a sausage here and there.

Looks so fun! The corn on a cob...on a stick reminds us of Nacho Libre! Thanks for documenting part of whats going on so we can feel a part of it! Love you guys!

What a beautiful location - looks like you had so much fun! Your travel tips are ones that I am going to take to heart. "Fun" trips often turn into "mom's frustrated but we're going on a trip" trip. I'm so grateful to have a sister-in-law who is so travel savvy to teach me some tricks! Thanks! We love you guys!
