Amazing how much that big white blanket changes things. Everything becomes exciting and playful to a 3 year old. Before breakfast he was dressed, snowsuited up and had made the first of many snowmen.
He zooms out to the car when its time to go knowing he gets to brush the snow off. He does "his job" of shoveling about 5 times a day very very happily. He digs Daddy's boots out of the closet when it starts to get dark, knowing he'll be home soon to play. He's even quick to fetch the head lamp if he knows he'll get to play longer and is generous in helping up a fallen baby.
To me being inside is suddenly more cozy and things slow down. I spend more time on my little projects, stay in my pjs just a little longer. But eventually I have to start thinking of a good indoor activity for the boys. The other day we went to a great museum with some friends.
I was surprised we hadn't discovered it yet. It was close, free and had great exhibits - tons of big, shiny, colorful things for the boys to look at.

Well...I don't exactly throw on my snowsuit when it snows, but I don't mind the white blanket. :)
I LOVE that museum. I am actually doing research on one of their education programs.
Oh, the snowmen have arrived! Have you ever read the book What Snowmen do at Night? Your boys would love it.
I LOVE the first snow! The excitement the kids have is simply infectious and makes it so fun! We miss you guys so much and wish you the best of Thanksgivings! We can't wait to see you over the holidays!
I love the mini snowman. What a good dad Dave is for going out there in the dark after working all day. I most enjoy the snow from the warmth of my kitchen looking out the window! Have a great Thanksgiving you guys!!! We love you lots.
Loved that museum! We've committed to taking the whole family when Steve get's his much deserved break from school.
ps - I've tried several times to get Noah's baby doll back to your house (I haven't forgotten). Perhaps you could pick it up when you come to VT (hint, hint). =)
Well said Jessie! This actually makes me MISS the snow. I knew I would at some point. It is strange to begin the holidays with our bright sunshine and lack of frozen, snowy weather. I love the way 3 year olds can enjoy it so well. Miss y'all.
It's so strange to see snow on your blog.. it still feels like summer over here. I am excited for a little Utah to get some snow. How fun I want to come and make a snowman.
